Prescriptions

Please note the new online prescription form is at the bottom of this page

Dear patients of Milton Surgery,

We understand the worry in these difficult times. Please note, however, that there is no need to stockpile prescription medications. As such, no prescription will be authorised unless due. Additionally, excess quantities will not be prescribed. This will help protect our pharmacies and ensure that medication stocks continue to be available.

We appreciate your understanding and help with this matter.

ALL prescriptions requests must be made in writing. This can be done by handing your request in at the practice (by putting it in our outdoor post box which can be found to the right of our front door), posting your request to the practice, or using the form below. Milton Surgery works with several local pharmacies and you can choose the one that suits you best. Please add a note to your prescription letting the Surgery know what your preference is; please note that all prescriptions will be sent directly to the pharmacy you choose, not just repeat prescriptions.

The practice does not accept telephone, faxed, or e-mailed requests.

Acute requests are any medication that is not on repeat. As such, a telephone consultation or a face to face appointment with a GP may be required. The surgery will contact you if this is the case. Additionally, medication that is not on repeat may take longer than 72 hours to complete.

Signed repeat prescriptions will be ready approximately 72 hours after request.  Please take note of any messages on your script. Prescriptions may take longer to process during busy/peak periods. Additionally, please note that the 72 hour timeline is for the surgery to prepare your prescription; this does not mean you prescription will be ready to collect from a chemist in that time. We are unable to confirm when a chemist will collect your prescription or how long it will take any chemist to prepare your medication(s) for collection. Please note that not every chemist collects prescriptions every day.

You can request repeat and acute prescriptions by completing and submitting the online form below. Once you have completed and submitted the form, you will receive a confirmation email. If you do not receive a confirmation email, please re-submit the form.
